The company in one idea
The clock starts
before the vessel.
Bex Port Logistics began in 2006 with two desks at Agrabad and four clients, three of them importing knitting machinery. The founder had spent eleven years inside other agencies and had watched the same thing happen over and over: the file opened on arrival day, the HS code argued out while the box sat in the yard, and the client paying port rent for a disagreement that could have been settled in June.
So we do it the other way around. A Bex file opens when the booking is confirmed. By the time the IGM is submitted, the bill of entry is drafted, the classification is checked line by line, and the duty is provisioned so the challan can clear the same day the assessment lands. Nothing about that is clever. It is just done early, every time, by someone whose name you know.
Nineteen years on there are two custom house licences, an office in Dhaka, a bond desk that handles work most competitors send out, and a fleet of covered vans we bought rather than hire. The knitting machinery client from 2006 is still with us, which we think is the only reference that really counts.
